Seminar on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment on 14/09/2024

On 14th September 2024, the Students and Staff Development Cell of Yash Institute of Pharmacy organized a Seminar on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment under the CESE course. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of gender-related challenges while encouraging inclusive values. The seminar began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by an insightful address by the Principal on the importance of gender equity in personal and professional spheres. Ms. Yogita Shirsath, Assistant Professor at the institute, delivered a thought-provoking talk, explaining key concepts like Gender Equity, Gender Equality, and Women Empowerment. She emphasized the significance of ensuring fairness by addressing historical gender disparities, promoting equal opportunities, and empowering women to actively participate in social, economic, and political spheres. The objectives of the seminar included eliminating discrimination, raising awareness, fostering inclusive practices, and contributing to societal well-being and sustainable development. Attended by 72 students, 17 faculty members, and 15 non-teaching staff, the seminar successfully highlighted how practicing gender equity can create balanced communities, improve economic growth, and reduce gender-based violence.
