Mentor-Mentee Scheme
The Mentor-Mentee Scheme at Yash Institute of Pharmacy is designed to provide personalized support and guidance to students throughout their academic journey. Each student is assigned a faculty mentor who serves as a consistent source of guidance and support, helping them navigate academic, professional, and personal challenges.
Structure and Objectives
Regular Meetings: Faculty mentors hold structured meetings with their mentees at set intervals, along with additional ad hoc meetings based on specific student needs. These meetings are planned with a clear agenda to maximize the effectiveness of each session, ensuring that students receive timely support on academic and career guidance, mental well-being, and overall personal growth.
Career Guidance and Skill Development: Mentors play a vital role in guiding students on career options, helping them identify their interests and goals. They also assist in developing essential soft skills, which are crucial for professional success. Mentors address any difficulties faced by mentees, akin to parental support in a college setting, ensuring students are equipped to handle both academic and co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
Encouragement of Participative Learning: Mentors encourage students to engage in participative learning and help build their stage courage through various platforms, allowing them to grow in confidence and communication.
Documentation and Follow-Up: Each mentor-mentee session is well-documented, allowing both mentors and mentees to track progress over time. The systematic documentation helps in identifying areas where a mentee may need additional assistance, enabling mentors to offer tailored advice.
Digital Examination Data Portal: Through our online examination data portal, mentors have access to students’ academic records and can track performance. This portal also allows parents to stay informed about their child’s progress, fostering a collaborative support network to aid the student’s academic journey.
Benefits
The scheme aims to provide a strong support system, ensuring students have access to academic advice, emotional support, and resources necessary for their success in the pharmacy field.
