World Wetlands Day :

World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally each year on 2 February. It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance in Ramsar, Iran, on 2 February 1971. This year the theme for World Wetlands Day 2019 was ‘Wetlands and climate change’. Wetlands can be vulnerable to climate change, being impacted by changes in temperature, rainfall, sea level rise and extreme events. Wetlands can also play an important role in our approach to climate change mitigation and adaptation, through capturing and storing carbon to reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases, and providing resilience to hazards such as flooding, storm surge and sea level rise.

To celebrate this day in our institute, we have arranged caption or slogan competition on the theme ‘Wetlands and climate change’. Many students participated in this competition. All of were gathered in the seminar hall and the event started at sharp 12 pm. Each participant was invited on stage to read the slogan and to share the importance of this day. The participants were Jay Pagare, Akanksha Somvanshi, Ayushi Kanhed, Bhakti Bhand, Pratibha Shinde, Pooja Karpe, Shradha Sakharkar, Mayuri Borate, Sonu Rathod, Prasad Pawade, Sambodhi Patil, Jyoti  Kholapkar, Rajendra Kharat and Aarti Pankade. 

Our principal Dr. S. S. Angadi sir judged the whole competition and selected winner for Ist, IInd and IIIrd position. The certificates were given to all the participants.

Teachers Day (05/09/2018) :

Teachers’ Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers and may include celebrations to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general. Teacher’s Day is celebrated to honor Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.  The whole function was planned by Mr. Aakash Kere and Ms. Nikita Jadhav with faculty co–coordinators. On this day, they decided that the responsibility of teaching is taken up by the students as an appreciation for their teachers. It was a great fun when the students were send to different class to deal with the junior classes. 

Total 22 students participated in teacher’s day, students has prepared timetable of lectures and practicals for 1st , 3rd and 5th semester from 09:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students went to class to deliver lectures on the ongoing semester subjects. After lunch break final year students had organized program for all teachers. The program started with the saraswati and Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan pujan by Dr. Angadi sir, Dr. V. P. Patil mam, Dr. S G Vaishnav mam and Dr.G A. Vaishnav sir. The students had prepared a video clipping of all the teachers by collecting their old photographs and displayed. All the teachers were honored with a small gift as a token of love and respect towards teaching faculty. They had arranged small games, quiz and antakshari competition between the ladies and gents faculty members. The efforts of the students were appreciated by all the teachers.

All the teachers and students enjoyed the day. It is the best day to make an understanding between students and teacher. Such days create a strong bond between teachers and students relationship.

Marathwada Mukti Sangram Divas (17/09/2018) :

Marathwada mukti sangram din is celebrated on17 th september to mark liberation of marathwada region from the clutches of Nizam of hyderabad in 1948. 71st Marathwada mukti sangram din was celebrated in our institute on 17th september 2018. The day was celebrated by hoisting the flag by the chief guest Dr. Jayant Shevtekar sir.

Then the further program was conducted in seminar hall, so all of us where gathered in the hall. The program was started by welcoming the chief guest Dr. Jayant Shevtekar sir by Nikita Raut and Pooja Gaikwad of IIIrd year followed by lightening the lamp. Renuka Sonawane of Ist year introduced the chief guest Dr. Jayant Shevtekar sir, head of department of Dramatics, Music and Yoga, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.  Dr. S. S. Angadi sir felicitated Dr. Jayant Shevtekar sir with a sapling and a book. Then Dr. Jayant Shevtekar sir addressed the students.  He explained the history of marathwada mukti sangarm din, the devotion of the freedom fighters, ladies of marathwada region etc. in liberation of   marathwada region from the clutches of Nizam of Hyderabad. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Roshni Bedmutha of Ist year.

University Foundation Day (23/08/2018) :

60th year of university foundation was celebrated with on 23rd Aug 2018. The celebration started at 10:00 am with the hoisting of flag of university. The, Honorable chief guest Prof. Sureshchandra Zambare, retired Professor, Department of Zoology, Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad hoisted the flag waving ceremony and all in unison sang the National Anthem. Then, the guest speaker chief guest Prof. Sureshchandra Zambare, addressed students and spoke on leadership, loyalty and motivation. He encouraged students to become a good citizen of India.

The highlight part of the event was speech delivered by Pooja Ghongade student of third year B. Pharm.  She impressed chief guest and all the audience by her speech. The celebration ended with vote of thanks by Ms Nikita Raut student of third year B. Pharmacy. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members, 192 students and 10 peoples from the society were present at the occasion.  Ms. Navashree Thorhatte and Mr. Prathamesh Walke student of third year B. Pharm, anchored the whole event. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

NSS Ganesh Visarjan event report :

As part of an innovative step to solve traffic woes during Ganpati immersion, the Waluj police has teamed up with college students of NSS Unit, Yash Institute of Pharmacy to manage the congestion. The  event was started at Bajaj nagar area on 23th September 2018, Reflective jackets, whistles and shirts distributed to the volunteers to become ‘police mitras’ and help manage traffic snarls. Before starting the event the traffic department trained the volunteers about the traffic rules and how to control the traffic smoothly.

Vachan Prerana Divas :

Yash Institute of Pharmacy has celebrated the birth anniversary of veteran scientist & former president of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as Vachan Prerna Divas’ on 15th October 2018. The program started by the welcome of chief guest by Nikita Raut of third year, followed by the lamp lightening ceremony. Then Renuka Sonawane introduced the chief guest Dr. D. K. Veer.

On this occasion debate competition was held. On this occasion book exhibition was also organized in the library. To promote reading habits among students & teachersDr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Vachan Katta was launched by co-secretary of Yogeshwari Education Society Mr. N.K. Golegaonkar. Students were motivated to read books. Students read the books of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam & were very inspired. The programme was attended by all the faculties. Students in large numbers participated in this.

World Pharmacists Day :

School of Medical and Allied Sciences celebrated World Pharmacist Day on 27th September 2016. Prof (Dr.) A.K.Madaan presided over the celebrations. The purpose of the celebration was to understand and celebrate the role of Pharmacist’s in our society. On this day all the services offered by Pharmacist were recognised and valued.

As the part of the celebration following activities were conducted:

  • Oath taking ceremony by Qualified Pharmacist (Faculty) and budding Pharmacist (students).
  • Skit on value of Pharmacy was enacted by our talented students which has been videotaped.

Tree Plantation (29/07/2018) : 

On 29/07/2018, Yash Institute of Pharmacy successfully completed the event of tree plantation under the direction of National Service Scheme and association with Jansahayog Foundation at near Golwadi naka, behind cantonment toll area. Trees are the foremost source for producing the oxygen in environment, they helps to reduce the level of CO2. As we all know that the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and to recover from such problem planting the trees is become one of the most important aspects today.

The event was began with the welcoming of guest by Principal Dr. S.S.Angadi Sir, At that time Principal advice to volunteers to think differently for the Society to make positive changes and to make improvement. After the inspirational words of Principal we all move towards the place where tree plantation took place. A first tree was planted by our beloved Principal Dr. S.S.Angadi Sir. Mr. Abhay Joshi and Mr. Mahesh Bhosale also plant a tree. Total tree planted by all others including teachers, NSS volunteers was more than 6000 on the day. We had planted  various types of indian plants some of them being Arjuna, Eucaleptus, Tamarica indica, Custured apple, Almond, Hirda, Beheda etc. 

For this program Mr. Uday Choudhari, distric collector, Aurangabad was present as a chief guest, Mr. Prashant Girhe, president of Jansahyog Foundation, Mr. Manish Puranik, Head of Kohlar company, Dr. S.S.Angadi, Principal, Yash Institute of Pharmacy, Aurangabad, Mr. Mahesh Bhosale, NSS co-ordinator, Staff members and Students of Yash Institute of pharmacy was actively participated in the tree plantation program. Our teachers explained medicinal properties, uses of various plants to our students. Students querulously asked the questions regarding medicinal plants. All were happy and experience proud after the tree plantation event was finished, because it really feels great to do positive for the nature.

NSS Special camp, Golwadi, Aurangabad  (13/01/2019) :

 NSS camp, our unit organized the awaereness program on de-addiction for the citizens of golwadi, Aurangabad. On this occasion our unit invited Mr. Pradeep Mali and Mr. Mahavir Kankaria, social worker for the awareness on de-addiction. On this event Mr. Pradeep Mali delivered the lecture on de- addiction. He aware the peoples about the harmful effects of various addictions like tobacco chewing, smoking, alcoholic consumption etc. with the help of examples from our day to day life. He expressed the views about the addiction and motivate the people to keep away from such addiction. He gave the oath to the people of golwadi that “be de-addicted, be healthy, be happy.” He convey the message of de-addiction with the help of nice poem created by him. By the ending of the event, all present motivated by the guidance and gave assurance that, they always keep away from addictions like tobacco and its products. The volunteers and faculty of NSS unit took efforts for this event.

Cleaning Campaign (14/01/2019) :

Yash Institute of Pharmacy successfully completed the event “SWACHATA IN VILLAGE” under the National Service Scheme at Golwadi , Aurangabad. NSS Volunteers conducted cleanliness drive for creating awareness among the public about the cleanliness of the Golwadi. The NSS volunteers actively participated in creating awareness by taking door to door campaign to the public, informing them about the importance of cleanliness. The students took the initiative to clean the surrounding of vicinity. The total number of students who participated in the campaign were 50.

NSS volunteers along with the Program officer Mr. Mahesh Bhosale, Mr. Abhay Joshi, and office staff Mr. Goltakke visited Golwadi village for creating Swachh Bharat Awareness and keeping surrounding clean. Volunteers made the best efforts by giving information on positivity of Swachhata Abhiyan and personally visiting each house.

University Name Extension Day :

We all were gathered for celebrating 25th anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University name extension day 14th Jan. 2019. The celebration started with the Flag hoisting of university flag by Chief guest Dr. A. S. Dhabe and Ms. Jayshree Dhabe. After flag hoisting all were gathered in the seminar hall. The program started at sharp 9:30 am, Pratiksha Jadhav of IIIrd year welcomed the guest and briefly introduced about the history of university name extension day. Then, the chief guest Dr. A.S. Dhabe, Mrs. Jayshree Dhabe and Mrs. Joytsna Kamble and Principal sir honored  the light lightening ceremony. 

The chief guest Dr. A S Dhabe sir, department of botany, Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad, of function were introduced by Ms. Renuka Sonawane, Ist year. She introduced sir with his huge achievements in the field of botany, then all the dignitaries were felicitated by giving a book and Shawl as token of love and respect, Dr. S. S. Angadi sir felicitated Dr. AS Dhabe sir, Dr. V. P. Patil felicitated Mrs. Jayshree Dhabe, Enterprener Naturopathy -Herbal product and Dr. S.G. Vaishnav felicitated Mrs. Jotsna Kamble Msc Biotech, lecturer. Sandhya Puri of IIIrd invited chief guest to address the students on this occasion. Dr. A.S. Dhabe sir shared the history of university name extension day. The vote of thank of event of the was delivered by Mohini Nikam of 3rd year.

Water Conservation  (15/01/2019) :

In NSS camp, our unit organized the awareness program on Water Conservation for the citizens of Golwadi, Aurangabad.

On this occasion our unit invited Mr. Gajanan Saykhedkar for the awareness on Water Conservation. On this event Mr. Gajanan Saykhedkar delivered the seminar on Water Conservation. He said, we can live without food for three to five days a week, but we cannot stand for living without water for a day.  Water is the basis of lives living on earth. But without a proper condition of water, there must be a bad effect on all types of lives as well. As it becoming worse because of the pollution and the climate change, water conservation is the perfect way to improve the quality of water as well as to balance the current and future water needs. To get through the water conservation, we should know the important, the goal and how we can conserve the water. By the ending of the event, all present motivated by the guidance.

Free Ear Checkup Camp (16/01/2019) :

NSS unit of Yash Institute of Pharmacy organized free EAR Checkup camp at Golwadi

An 8-day special camp has been organized at Golwadi by NSS unit of Yash Institute of Pharmacy. On this occasion, dated 16/01/2019 free Ear chekup camp were conducted in the joint work of NSS and SAFU, Aurangabad in Golwadi village. Camp was started at 10 am and ended at 5 pm. In this more than 300 citizen were checked by Ear expert Gaurav Karle and his Team members, after inspection of the people of the village and followed him, provided advise. The citizens of this village registered the event with a spontaneous participation. Principal Dr. Angadi expressed his gratitude to the volunteers of National Service Scheme of Yash Institute of Pharmacy. Program Officer Mr. Mahesh Bhosale, Mr. Abhay Joshi, Shri. Goltakke and NSS volunteers took special efforts for this event.

Oral Hygiene (17/01/2019) :

NSS unit of Yash Institute of Pharmacy organized free Dental Checkup camp at Golwadi

An 8-day special camp has been organized at Golwadi by NSS unit of Yash Institute of Pharmacy. On this occasion, dated 17/01/2019 free dental camp were conducted in the joint work of NSS and Ganpati Dental Hospital in Golwadi village. Camp was started at 10 am and ended at 5 pm. In this more than 200 citizen were checked by Dental expert Dr. Aniket Badve, Dr. Ganesh Dhawale, after inspection of the people of the village and followed him, provided free medicines. The citizens of this village registered the event with a spontaneous participation. In this work Suraj Ghanavat, Sandhya Ghuge, Ravi Sasane and Shoaib have made important contributions in this work. Principal Dr. Angadi expressed his gratitude to the volunteers of National Service Scheme of Yash Institute of Pharmacy and Dr. Vaishnav, Dr.Shelke, Program Officer Mr. Mahesh Bhosale, Mr. Abhay Joshi, Shri. Goltakke and NSS volunteers took special efforts for this event.

Voter Awareness (18/01/2019) :

In NSS camp, our unit organized the Voter awareness program for the citizens of Golwadi, Aurangabad to create voting awareness in common people with the significance to encourage more young voters to actively take part in the election process to create transparent democratic nation.

The volunteers actively participated in the campaign. They spread awareness about the right to vote and also the importance of this right with an aim to increase the average voting percentage.

Blood donation camp, Hb and Blood Group test:

The NSS unit of Yash Institute of Pharmacy organized blood donation camp in collaboration with Dattaji Bhale Blood bank, on 19th January 2019. The camp began at 10.00 a.m. with a short inaugural function where in Dattaji Bhale Blood bank team expressed their gratitude to the NSS unit of the college for its continuous endeavor in this regard and also stressed on the growing need of blood in the state and commended the young volunteers for their noble act.

Many volunteers came forward to donate blood during the camp which included teaching and non-teaching staff, students and citizens from near area. The blood donors were given Chivda and Chikki made up of Groundnut and jaggery after donating the blood in order to reenergize themselves. The blood donors were provided with a blood donation certificate. All participents were benefitted by Hb test conducted by students of Yash Institute of Pharmacy.

National Voter’s Day (26/01/2019) :

National Voter’s Day is a celebration of democracy and a tribute to the Election Commission for upholding the principles of democracy by conducting free and fair elections. This year, India is celebrating its 9th National Voters Day on January 25, 2019. The voters’ day celebration was initiated in 2011 by the then President of India, Pratibha Devi Patil, on the 61st foundation day of Election Commission of India. In our institute we celebrated this day on 26th January 2019 on the occasion of republic day in seminar hall. 

Ms. Renuka Sonawane, introduced all of us about the importance of National Voter’s Day. The chief guest of the function was an Indian army officer Major Snehashis Chakravarty. She invited Chief Guest to read the voters oath. In presence of chief guest, principal sir, teachers, non-teaching members, all B. pharm. students and parents we celebrated this day by taking the national voter’s oath. 

Menstrual Hygiene Management (06/02/2019) :

A Field visit was organized by our institute with association of CARPE Campus Club At. Po. Thakarwadi, Tq. Werul, Dist. Aurangabad.As a part of workshop titled Research Methodology which were conducted at our institute with the association of CARPE, the field visit was organized.

In workshop the theoretical knowledge was given by Mrs. Rahi Kachole mam. That workshop include the knowledge about the research methodology, sampling methods, organization of survey, questions of survey, How to make a survey? , Analysis of sampling, etc. As a part of this workshop the actual survey was organized on the topic Menstrual Hygiene Management at the visiting place. At the time of visit the survey form which was provided by the CARPE was used by the students. This survey form was filled by the students by asking the questions to the villagers of the Thakarwadi.

The staff of CARPE was present at the time of visit. They gave information to the students about the survey and filling of survey form from the villagers. Students were actively participated in the process of survey and about 120 forms was filled by the students. At the time of visit 21 students along with 2 faculty members and 6 staff members of CARPE was present. Students had actual sight of work which was studied in the workshop and students enjoyed the survey with high enthusiasm.

Energy Management :

A seminar was organized at Yash Institute of Pharmacy, Aurangabad on topic, Energy Management. Mr. Kedar Khamitkar, Certified Energy Auditor, PCRA was the resource person for the seminar. Our principal Dr. S. S. Angadi felicitate the guest with a gift of book as token of gratitude. This seminar was the part of Institutional Training Program on energy conservation with special focus on conservation of petroleum products including LPG, Petrol, Kerosene etc. conducted by Petroleum Conservation Research Association. The one hour program include power point presentation covers various aspects of energy conservation. The guest also delivered the PowerPoint presentation about the history, objectives and working of PCRA. At the end of the program all present took pledge on Energy Conservation. All students gave assurance that we all utilize the energy at optimum level and trying to not waste the energy.

Alumni Meet January 2019 :

The alumni meet of passed out batches of Yash Institute of Pharmacy from 2008 to 2018 was conducted at Seminar Hall of Yash Institute of Pharmacy, Aurangabad on 26/01/2019.

Registration counters opened at 10:00 AM on day of the event. In all 85 alumni members including Alumni Association Office Bearers attended the event. The event was Chaired by Hon. Dr. V. K. Deshmukh, Joint Secretary, Mula Education Society, Sonai. The Event was inaugurated with traditional lamp lightening (Deep Prajwalan) and Saraswati Vandana. It was followed by introduction to the event by our 2nd semester students Ms. Gayatri Dedwal and Ms. Renuka Sonawane. On the dais were

  2. Hon. Dr. S. S. Angadi, (Principal, Yash Institute of Pharmacy, Aurangabad).

  4. Shri. Arvind Sonawane (Vice President, Yash Institute of Pharmacy Alumni Association)

Hon. Dr. V. K. Deshmukh was felicitated by Dr. S. S. Angadi by offering a plant sapling. Followed by felicitation of Dr. S. S. Angadi, and office bearers of Yash Institute of Pharmacy Alumni Association. Dr. G. A. Vaishnav made a power point presentation to the alumni and distinguished guests regarding objectives of Alumni Association, and how alumni can help the current students and the Institute. He also outline areas of joint collaboration of the Institute with Alumni Association.

Shri ApurvRahurkar, student of 2008 batch passout alumni from the institute spoke to alumni, teachers, guests and students regarding the nostalgic bond shared by Alumni with the Institute and promised on behalf of all alumni to help the institute and current students in every possible way. Hon. Dr. V. K. Deshmukh, Joint Secretary, Mula Education Society guided the alumni, students and teachers regarding expectations from alumni association and possible ways to achieve the goals. The first session was followed by buffet lunch wherein the alumni interacted with their peers, seniors, juniors and faculty along with delicious food. A cultural program containing patriotic and nostalgic songs was arranged for the alumni. The cultural event was followed by speech by Hon. Principal, Dr. S. S. Angadi. He enlightened the alumni, Alumni Association Office Bearers and faculty regarding development of alumni involvement as principle stakeholders in the institute. Ms. Pooja Ghongde proposed a vote of thanks. The formal program was followed by Volleyball matches among alumni, staff and current students.
